a few of my favorite things that are on sale!
as always, thank y’all so much for shopping through my links, especially in light of this year's bout of unemployment. being able to help provide a little bit for my family - while staying home with two littles - is something I will never take for granted. please know that anytime you comment on a post, share one of my reels, read a blogpost, open my weekly menu plan, or shop through my links, I appreciate your support and kindness so, so much. xo, h
and know that I’ll be shopping for Christmas today and tomorrow - here’s this year’s Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers. I’ll be sharing later what specifically I bought!
magnatiles to make ROADS and this magnatile CONSTRUCTION set
and one of the only toys we keep in the main area of our home - why we keep building toys in the main area of our home
aka these would be super, super appreciated gifts with some serious longevity
I can’t rave about this guy enough. Brett and I use this thing all the time - congestion, sinus gunk, clogged ears, you name it. Sometimes we add these vapor pads, too.
The concentrated steam provides so much relief.
On a more disgusting note, KK once had the biggest, nastiest piece of dried mucus blocking her entire nose, and it was basically attached to that inner, tender skin of her nose with unbreakable determination. until I had her sit in my lap with the best personal steam inhaler for a few minutes to loosen it all up. and then I was able to easily wipe said mucus boulder away without causing any sort of wound or tears, and we were able to move on with our day. bless.

y’all know I love having a simplified gift wrap stash and that it saves my bottom time and time again. this “merry christmas” ribbon will be the most darling addition to my Christmas stash. (and I love the other versions, too - like the “i love you” one and the “happy birthday” one!)

one of my 10 easy things to do right now for emergency preparedness is double check that you have plentyyy of extra batteries. I can’t recommend our battery organizer enough.
one of our favorite toys of all time: this small wagon
the best toy!!!
KK got this small wagon when she was a year old. and it has been used every single week - usually multiple times a week - since then. it’s that good. in fact, it’s one of the only toys we bring with us in our Airstream. it’s great for all sorts of imaginative play, but gosh it’s so great for so many ages because it’s so versatile. a great pulling toy, a great rock collector, a great baby doll stroller, a great car truck, a great outdoor AND indoor toy. I could go on and on and on.

KK’s favorite toys: an under $20 gift guide (the wagon’s on this list, too)
reusable water balloons + these water squirters
aka two of our favorite toys this summer - at the pool, at the river, and everything in between. we’ll definitely be bringing these with us to campgrounds!
we have an indoor family pool at our gym and we love to bring these there, too.
these reusable water balloons (or these water squirters) would make an awesome Christmas gift for anyone gifting an experience gift related to water or warm weather - beach vacation, indoor water park membership, trip to a hotel with an indoor pool, a weekend camping trip, etc.

the best book light there ever was
it hangs around your neck. which means however I’m looking at a book, the perfect amount of light hits BOTH pages. I always bring this with me camping or in a hotel, but I also use it every single time I read in bed.
the reviews on this thing are awesome - it’d be a wonderful gift for anyone who reads or anyone who does very detailed lap word (knitting, crocheting, etc).
again, not a super stupendous price, but I love this doodle pad so much. I’m buying a second and a third doodle pad - one for the Airstream and one for Brett’s truck. (I keep one in my car, and one in my diaper bag - it saves me at appointments, at restaurants, in traffic, everywhere.)
KK loves this doodle pad while we’re driving and while we’re listening to audiobooks, so it’s a great gift for my Future Self.
she also loves using it to play doctor. she uses this doodle pad as her “doctor notepad.”
we love this doctor kit and this vet kit - these two things get played with alllll the time with this doodle pad.
This is actually what I’m looking to buy a few of on sale - the adhesive acrylic baskets I love to put on the inside of cabinet doors to maximize space and to make the space more efficient.
I currently have an this specific adhesive acrylic basket under my kitchen sink for my dishwasher pods, and the price is muuuuuch lower than what I paid, so I’ll be buying a few more.
I’m hoping to grab a few more of these adhesive acrylic baskets in various sizes for the kitchens and bathrooms in both our home and our Airstream.
ah! i love this scoop set - it’s actually one of Joey’s stocking stuffers this year to share with KK.
while this scoop set would be perfect for sensory bins, sand boxes, water tables, and bath time, I’m bringing this scoop set in our Airstream - this scoop set would be perfect for all sorts of outdoor play wherever we’re camping. mud, rocks, rivers, sand, dirt, pools, the list goes on!
here’s this year’s Christmas gifts + stocking stuffers.
similar to what I use for my first aid boxes!
our bed pillows!!!!!
I’m excited for this one - I plan to grab some for our Airstream. these guys are pricey, but they are so worth it and the price is so good. we call these pillows one of the best investments we ever made for our home.
and I love that I can wash them. one of my monthly routines is to wash our pillows - but more on this in a second. I throw them in the washer, I dry them in the dryer, and they come out like new. we can’t recommend these pillows enough.
I keep a list on Google Keep of alllllll the things I’d love to do once a month. See that list here (and see the comments - I lovedddd reading y’alls monthly routines!).

my favorite food storage containers
I always say one of the best things to ask for for holidays gifts are things that would really elevate your day-to-day cooking and eating. like good leftover containers.
I love that these glass ones are easy to clean, but that they’re also oven-safe. (but never put a cold dish in an oven!) the big dish I’ll even use for halving casserole recipes, cobbler recipes, oven omelette recipes. the best.
I upgraded to these food storage containers when I was a teacher ten years ago and I’ve loved them since then. such a good investment. one of my evening routines is to put away leftovers and to clean the kitchen, which means I use these food storage containers several times a week.

because I’m in a season where expensive sunglasses aren’t a priority, so I have 3797239 pairs of my favorite sunglasses and I keep them everywhere: my bag, the stroller, the car, etc.

one of my morning routines is to fill the three diffusers around my house with orange essential oil, simply because I love the light citrus scent this gives my home.
one day I’d love to have beautiful diffusers, but for now I love that these diffusers are discreet, sturdy, and toddler-proof.

here’s a reel on how we store our coloring books. (or here’s a blogpost version.)
we love coloring books for our evening quiet time.
definitely buying a second set of these. I love that these have a label - I turn the label over for the blank side. I use these all the time - for organizing our car, our suitcase, our pool bag, our first aid stuff, our blueberry pediatrics at-home medical kit, our Airstream, etc.
when we had 3892739 things to do in August to get our Airstream, sell Brett’s car, and buy my dad’s truck (story coming soon), these zipper bags were my go-to for corralling important documents to take to appointments.
(in fact, I use these zipper bags for any important appointment - the night before, I put everything I’ll need in the zipper bag - documents, cash, checkbook, pen, passport, marriage license, etc etc etc - and then I rest assured I didn’t forget anything.)
I can’t tell you how much peace and contentment these tiny, tiny stickers bring me. I have one of my favorite cable clips on my nightstand for my phone charger, and one on my desk for my computer charger, and they keep the chargers in place like a good, trustworthy babysitter.
my favorite cable clips are also one of my favorite ways to start streamlining a home - it’s a tiny, easy task that packs a big punch. and, in my opinion, the key to streamlining a house is one tiny, easy task at a time, until you have a big pile of tiny, easy tasks. (blogpost coming soon on this!)
these would make a lovely stocking stuffer!
it’s almost embarrassing how much I love these less than $25 sheets - they’re so comfy, and I don’t worry about us/kids/dogs messing them up. we have two sets, we wash them every Friday, and we rotate between sets - I love this stuff for keeping my whites white.
this post talks about how often I wash sheets, how often I wash my comforter, how often we deep clean our bedroom, etc. and in there I talk about how much it helps me to have a spare set of sheets - so that instead of waiting for laundry to be done, I strip sheets, put dirty sheets in the wash, put the spare sheets on the bed, and bam I’m done.
so all that to say, consider using sales as a time to give yourself the gift of easier laundry - aka a second set of sheets.

remember that black paper from childhood, that when you drew on it, your drawing was rainbow? these rainbow art mini papers are just. that - but a tiny version. which is perfect for my three year old, who draws in short amounts of time and then moves on.
I’ll definitely be grabbing some of these for stocking stuffers and to have on hand for future birthday gifts. you’re welcome, Future Haley!
these rainbow art mini papers were one of KK’s third birthday gifts and they were such a hit. we love to use them for our evening quiet time - here’s how we store our art supplies!

this four-pack of camping lanterns
I truly never stop talking about these. THE best set of lanterns, and these lanterns truly saved us during that weird Texas Ice Storm where we lost power and water for a week. we lived by these lanterns.
I’m always talking about emergency preparedness - I grew up in Houston, and my parents only live near me now because Hurricane Harvey destroyed my childhood home - and I’m here to say that emergency preparedness is necessary. one of my 10 easy things to do right now for emergency preparedness is to invest in good emergency lighting, like this four-pack of camping lanterns. (I also keep one in my car and it comes in so handy.)
