by popular demand, here’s the three traditions (and gifts) we do for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

but as KK’s hair got longer and longer, I kept putting off her first haircut.

y’all know I have a list of monthly routines I love, but y’all also know I don’t necessarily do everything on the list every month - I just like the monthly reminder.

however, the following ten things I do make sure to do every single month. they’re ten small, simple tasks, but they pack a huge punch, ensure our household runs so much smoother, and keep us aligned with our priorities.

spoiler: none of them are made for the bath.

Bless our simplified gift wrap system. I can’t tell you how many times this saves my bottom.

For birthday parties, Teacher Appreciation goodies, hostess treats, meal trains, baby showers, wedding presents, just because surprises. The list goes on!

we use our Easter baskets as our way of purchasing some essentials for the upcoming Texas Summer. because I’ll need to buy things like swimsuits and sunscreen and pool hats anyway, so I may as well throw it in a basket and call it an Easter gift.

plus, this is my annual reminder to make sure Brett and I both have summer things we feel good in. because who do you think is taking all these babies to the pool all summer, and to the beach for our annual trip? mama and daddy.

also, that said, because we splurge on these Easter baskets to make sure we’re all outfitted for Summer, it is much pricier than if we did, say, Easter trinkets and candy. so we put a little money aside for this all year long. and because while it’s expensive up front, everything in these baskets gets used a ton, both that upcoming summer, and summers to come. (did I mention we live in Texas? so really they get used for the majority of the year.)

without further ado, here are our baskets this year, for Summer 2023:

texas summers are not for the weak. and texas can have summer-like temps a good 80% of the year, so trust your Sister Haley when she says she has a fewwww favorite things to endure/enjoy summer.
