kk's favorite things: gift ideas over $50

November 5, 2023

a round-up of our absolute favorite splurge toys that we play with every single week for multiple ages.

  • here’s a round-up of favorite toys under $20!

  • our diy-ish play kitchen with a mailbox and phone

    • (here's the direct link to the original kitchen, but see first link for details on what we added)

  • our balance bike and helmet

  • our scooter

  • our nugget couches for building obstacle courses

  • our climbing triangle and slide

    • we recently brought this out of storage for Joey, and KK loves it all over again

  • our balance beam + our balance board

    • for gross motor play, but also the best bridges and ramps for toy cars

  • our rainbow steps

  • our sensory tables

    • (here's the direct link to the tables, but see the first link for more details)

  • our diy duplo table

  • two sets of our rainbow block set

  • two sets of our big block set

  • grapat loose parts

and technically some of these are under $50 individually, but we love them grouped together:

  • our jumbo animal figurines

    • farm animals

    • jungle animals

    • forest animals

    • ocean animals

    • pets

    • zoo animals

  • our doctor kit + our vet kit + our big, pretty medical box to keep it all in

  • trains + train set + a few expander sets of basic tracks

  • rolling cart + our favorite play dough tools + our favorite art supplies

  • this garage/car wash/gas station toy - 9/10 times if I set this gem out with these town vehicles or this emergency vehicle carrier after nap, it inspires lotssss of play in KK.

and here are some favorites way under $50:

  • takealong stable with 8 horses - one of my favorite, favorite toys for all ages

  • these wooden stacking/nesting boxes

    • an amazing building toy! we love these to make buildings, garages, obstacle courses, everything!

    • our magnatiles

      • this starter set

      • this huge basic set

      • these bases to build CARS!

    • we keep a chalkboard and rolling cart near our kitchen for our magnatiles and it’s continuously one of the kids’ favorite things to play with while I work in the kitchen. this reel shows the set-up.

    • here’s why I love keeping building materials in the main area of our home.

    • here’s the only three toys we bring with us when we go camping/RV-ing/Airstreaming. spoiler: magnatiles are one!
