currently meal prepping

i usually do a little meal prep on Sundays as a part of our Grill and Chill, but I may instead do a bit here and there throughout the week. (you’ll notice I allow space in my daily rhythm for potential meal prep.)

below is the list of what I hope to meal prep this week - it may not all happen, and that's okay! even 5 minutes of prep is super beneficial.

prep some dinner components:

  • prep produce

prep some sort of dessert for the week:

  • see here why this is our new favorite thing for our marriage.

  • make a double batch of my FIL’s favorite cookies for his birthday:

prep some things to make breakfasts/snacks/lunches smoother:

Need more ideas for make-ahead breakfasts and lunches to meal prep? Here’s my list of favorites!

  • menu planning with what we already have on hand in the pantry/freezer/fridge to help cut costs on our groceries

  • squeezing some outdoor play into our day when KK gets up from her nap - it’s been the loveliest tweak to our daily rhythm and it’s had me in the best mood. routines and rhythms are meant to change as your needs change - if something is no longer working, it’s totally okay to reassess and/or let it go!

    • dinners have also been on the easier side while we navigate this new change to our routine and I really appreciate that grace I’ve given myself.

those that follow my Instagram stories know that this week I’ve been reflecting on some small changes I need in this season of ours - one of which is more audiobooks. so we joined another nearby library (for more access on my libby account - yay!!!) and I signed up again for audible again.

gosh, I love reevaluating what is (and isn’t!) working for us. routines and rhythms are meant to change as our needs change - and that’s okay! it’s all fluid.

curious how I read so often? read that answer - and other FAQs - here!

  • our new daily rhythm. like i mentioned in stories this week, kk is officially a tiny, active, curious human. and our daily rhythm needs to be tweaked to better serve her (and me!). nothing huge - the majority of our daily rhythm still works right now. but, for example, i’d like to start doing some potential outside time after her nap, but before dinner. which means I need to reevaluate dinner options for us: do I want to prep more during Sunday meal prep? do i want to prep dinner earlier in the day? do i want to rely more on slow cooker/IP/easy meals? do I want to bring back more freezer cooking? all of the above?

    • pinpointing what we need in this current season is so empowering and exciting. i’m changing and controlling what we can, while completely enjoying (and accepting) the rest. because…toddlers. :)
