currently meal prepping
i usually do a little meal prep on Sundays as a part of our Grill and Chill, but I may instead do a bit here and there throughout the week. (you’ll notice I allow space in my daily rhythm for potential meal prep.)
below is the list of what I hope to meal prep this week - it may not all happen, and that's okay! even 5 minutes of prep is super beneficial.
prep some dinner components:
prep produce
prep some sort of dessert for the week:
see here why this is our new favorite thing for our marriage.
make a double batch of my FIL’s favorite cookies for his birthday:
oatmeal raisin cookies (make one batch with walnuts, one batch without)
and make a double batch of my favorite oatmeal cookies for the raisin haters like myself
freeze half the cookies - like this!
prep some things to make breakfasts/snacks/lunches smoother:
move some frozen mango/pineapple/cherries to mason jars in the fridge for KK like this
slice lemons for hot lemon water
make my absolute favorite blueberry muffins and/or my favorite egg muffins (I omit the bacon out of personal preference for the yummiest cheesy egg bites)
freeze leftover muffins - see my list of favorite things to freeze here
prep a few snack boxes for me: produce + muffins OR produce + turkey pinwheels + honey mustard to dip pinwheels OR produce + peanut butter pretzel energy bites OR produce + cheese/crackers
make a few mason jar salads (post coming soon on this) of my favorite salad when I was a teacher: strawberry, quinoa, and chopped spinach salad
I usually add some grilled chicken too
make a big batch of carrot orange juice, if time/energy

currently working on
menu planning with what we already have on hand in the pantry/freezer/fridge to help cut costs on our groceries
squeezing some outdoor play into our day when KK gets up from her nap - it’s been the loveliest tweak to our daily rhythm and it’s had me in the best mood. routines and rhythms are meant to change as your needs change - if something is no longer working, it’s totally okay to reassess and/or let it go!
dinners have also been on the easier side while we navigate this new change to our routine and I really appreciate that grace I’ve given myself.
