all things kk

November 24, 2021

consider this page a round-up of allllllll our favorite things for our family.

favorite things by age:

  • our favorite things: 18-24 months

  • our favorite things: 12-18 months

  • our baby favorites: 6-12 months

  • our baby favorites: 0-6 months

  • my postpartum favorites

  • written at 10 days postpartum, this is a list of the things I’m SO GLAD I prepped, did, and/or had that made those first few months of KK’s life so stinking sweet, even though I had a heinous amount of stitches.

  • in other words, this is the post I wish I had read while pregnant - every other post I read was either too scary or too sugar-coated or too basic.

  • also includes some of my favorite baby things - like my favorite things for sleep and favorite home things.

  • my pregnancy with KK

    • what I did before getting pregnant that really helped us, how my pregnancy went, all the things that really helped me while pregnant, and allllll the things I did to prep for KK’s arrival. consider this a detailed diary.

other favorite things:

  • a tour of the play spaces in our home

  • how we organize kk’s art supplies

  • kk's simplified toddler wardrobe + her hair goodies

  • our bathtime favorites

  • kk’s themed monthly bookshelf + a list of our favorite books for each month of the year

  • our sensory play favorites + our sensory table FAQs

  • kk’s play kitchen: an ikea duktig makeover

  • our favorite toys, books, sensory bins, and activities BY MONTH

  • our favorite bigger toys

  • our outdoor sensory tables for water, soil, and sand

  • our favorite outdoor toys

food favorites:

  • our meal rotation + our dinner themes

  • our lunchbox favorites

  • my smoothies I share with KK

  • our make-ahead breakfast and lunch favorites

  • our BLW journey + a full recap

    • KK’s nursing/formula weaning, how we introduced solids, our BLW journey, our favorite resources/recipes/products, an example of how I meal prep, etc

  • our favorites for feeding a toddler…and cooking dinner with a toddler nearby

    • this post lists out our favorite things we have in our kitchen. things KK loves to use to eat, things that cause our mealtimes to be so stress-free, things that keep her 1000% entertained while I cook, things she loves to play with, etc. it’s one of my absolute favorite posts.

    • in other words, sometimes I completely and utterly rely on our kitchen and our mealtimes to entertain (and wear out) KK. this part of our home is a TOOL in our toolbox and I treat it as such. the linked post goes into more detail!

seasonal favorites:

  • our full list of family traditions

  • our favorite toys, books, sensory bins, and activities BY MONTH

  • what kk gets for christmas (and how we plan for christmas)

  • kk’s valentine basket formula + kk’s easter basket formula

    • links also include our family traditions for each holiday, too

  • our summer essentials for both mama and bebe

    • including my simplified swimsuit formula and how I make sure I always have summer pieces I feel good in. I was so happy I had these things when KK started swim lessons.

  • what we bring to the gym + pool

  • our beach favorites

    • our first beach trip was when KK was 14 months old. we swear by this list.

  • our system for preserving, displaying, and organizing photos and memories

    • because once we had a bebe, we wanted a simple system that worked. like what we do with all those precious candid pictures on my phone and what we do with sweet cards KK receives.

  • how we simplify holidays + celebrations

other kk-related posts:

  • our daily schedule

    • a peek into our day-to-day rhythms and routines these days

  • our prepared-ish home

    • a full list of what we keep on hand in our home now that we have a bebe. alllll the things that we have to make our lives easier.

    • because while it’s great for avoiding frantic, last-minute runs to the store, it’s also nice for first aid situations, baby poop situations, running-out-of-XYZ situations, i’m-tired situations, i-don’t-feel-well situations, and, you know, natural disasters.

  • our child-friendly home

    • my longest post yet! a full list of all our household systems, organizational ideas (like toy storage, memory boxes, and baby binders!), and decor choices so that our home is child-friendly, but also a home we love. this is my parenting hill to die upon.

  • why we joined a gym with good pools and goooood childcare

  • our pregnancy loss - a story of how I grieved + healed
