y’all are my people. I posted on Instagram that the loose cords to our small kitchen appliances were driving me batty. and these cord organizers brought me JOY. you stick them on the appliance, wrap the cord around it, and feel a sense of calm contentment. a pack of six is less than $12, and I felt this was the best upgrade to my kitchen I’ve done in a long, long time. these were my biggest bestseller this month by a LANDSLIDE and that makes me so happy to know I’m twinning with so many of y’all.

2) liquid zinc for babies, toddlers, kids, and adults
this was a huge bestseller, too. whenever KK starts to show the smallest sign of congestion (or whatever), I give these drops to her every morning (and a bath with this stuff every night) until conditions improve. KK had a cold right before my sister’s wedding, and I swear this liquid zinc is the reason she felt fine for the wedding day.
cold & flu season is coming, and this liquid zinc is something I make sure to keep on hand. and while I technically have the adult formula, the back of the bottle gives appropriate dosage for all ages, so I love that.

I said listen to your dear friend Haley: buy the best heel scrubber, loop a ziptie around the top, and hang it in your shower on a caddy or a hook like this. And boy, did y’all listen. For this summer especially this was easily one of the best investments I ever made.

remember that black paper from childhood, that when you drew on it, your drawing was rainbow? these rainbow art mini papers are just. that - but a tiny version. which is perfect for my three year old, who draws in short amounts of time and then moves on.
these rainbow art mini papers were one of KK’s third birthday gifts and they were such a hit. we love to use them for our evening quiet time - here’s how we store our art supplies!
these rainbow art mini papers are currently on sale - I’m grabbing a few for preschooler birthday presents this year, and as Christmas presents for my darling nephews.

four things I keep on hand for toddler/preschooler birthday gifts
I know, I know: there are ways to DIY this, I’m sure. But when my kids are sick (or I’m feeling poorly), the last thing I want to do is a DIY project, much less gather all the supplies and take measurements. So I always keep 2-3 bottles of this vapor bubble bath on hand. Because - at the risk of being super gross here - this stuff clears mucus out of my children like nothing else. So whenever the kids show even the slightest bit of congegstion, we take a longggg bath every night with this stuff - I let them play, and I watch mucus pour out of their little bodies. (Like I said, gross.) I swear this vapor bubble bath (and this liquid zinc) is the reason we kicked KK’s cold just in time for my sister’s wedding.
and honestly, I’m sure any vapor bubble bath out there does the trick - like, I’m. dying to try this one since it seems slightly less expensive, higher rated, and more readily available. but for now I stick to what I know works for us.

6) my favorite basic bath caddy
honestly, I had no idea this would be a popular seller, but I’m so glad it is! i’ve tried fancier bath caddies, but this basic one always ends up being my favorite. it sits in the bath, it’s less than $15, and KK loves that her toys are easy to see (which makes for less of a mess).

7) the zipper pouches we all have and love
THE BEST. I personally love that mine are black (as opposed to rainbow) and I love that mine have labels (so I can turn them over and write on the blank side). lately we’ve been in the throes of selling Brett’s car and buying my dad’s truck (long, lovely story), and these zipper pouches are my favorite for corralling all the important documents for those important appointments at the DMV, county clerk’s office, bank, car place, etc etc etc. (on a related note, my marriage license has never seen so much daylight.)
and also? at the beginning of this month, the kids spent the week with Brett’s parents. I LOVED these zipper pouches (and their easy-to-see labels) for packing the kids. what especially worked well for us is making a zipper pouch for each day of the week, labeling it with the day of the week, and putting that day’s outfit (and back-up clothes) in there. i swear these zipper pouches are an absolute must-have for parenthood.
these zipper pouches were also imperative for organizing my pool bag + my adventure bag. and for packing + adventuring in general.

my car binders - aka my sanity saver, my simplest system
I’m currently in the slowwwww process of labeling all our cords and cables - and discarding what we don’t need - and I’m in love with these labels. you could totally just do tape, but I am neither coordinated enough nor patient enough for that, so these easy-to-handle, velcro labels have been a dream.

y’all know I’m really particular about what toys we bring into the house - KK plays better when she’s not overwhelmed with options, and I function better when the clutter in our home is manageable. I need a toy that inspires lots of play and I need a toy that’ll grow well with us across multiple ages. these car bases for magnatiles are some of the BEST toys we’ve found in awhile.
we keep a rolling cart of a biggg pack of magnatiles near our kitchen - see a quick reel on that here! - and simply adding some car bases for magnatiles has inspired the best play. KK uses the car bases for magnatiles to build cars, to build trucks, to build double decker buses, etc. we’re calling them Our Toy of Summer 2023 - they’ve saved us these hot, hot afternoons (and slowwww mornings) this summer.

10) divided containers for toppings, cheese boards, snacks, etc
we used these divided containers for an Epic Hot Dog Bar at the river this summer - see the photo of that Hot Dog Bar here. I also used these divided containers to bring a huuuuuge cheese board situation to a weekend getaway for my best friend’s birthday. and I can’t wait to use these divided containers for football watching parties and general fall festivities.

10) this doodle pad (a tie!)
unexpectedly one of KK’s favorite toys right now (3 years old). the Easter Bunny brought it to her when she was just shy of 2 years old, and lately she loves drawing on it in the car, or using it to play doctor. she uses this doodle pad as her “doctor notepad.”
we love this doctor kit and this vet kit - these two things get played with alllll the time with this doodle pad.
but also? my current hill to die upon is that we will listen to audiobooks in the car - I need that time to recharge, and squeezing in some additional reading time during a task I otherwise dread (driving) has brought me so much joy. usually we listen to a nonfiction book with content I don’t mind KK hearing, but we’re also starting to dabble in kid-friendly audiobook/podcast recommendations from one of my favorite accounts.
so KK knows she has three options when we’re in the car while we listen to “mommy book”: she can draw on this doodle pad, she can look through her favorite look and find books, or she can “read” one of her birthday magazines. (and sometimes she just listens to the audiobook, looks out the window, or sings to herself. i’m happy with any of these!)
