Yes, when we go camping, we do a lot of fun things. But we still bring activities with us.
I like to keep our daily rhythm somewhat similar in the Airstream to what we do at home, so I bring along a few supplies for sensory play, morning activities, and Quiet Time. My kids and I both benefit from the predictable rhythm, but it’s also nice to have these things when they’re tired, when the weather’s poor, or when we need a quiet moment while on the road.
I swear by bringing all these things for a successful trip with little kids.
Here’s what we bring.
this monthly activities subscription for easy quiet time activities
these art supplies + these printables for morning activities + poor weather
kept in these storage bins in our tiny closet
these two toys + these target baskets for endless indoor play
this very basic rice bin + sensory supplies (stored outside with our outdoor toys)
this book for teaching my preschooler how to read
and plenty of magazines from our birthdays
Also!
our favorite outdoor toys, part 2
PSA: I store our outdoor toys in two $4 laundry baskets so that the toys are easy to see, easy to hose off, and easy to throw in the truck for camping!
Whew!
