This post is dedicated to Molli, who inspires me daily. Forever grateful for you, your abundant wisdom, and your beautiful friendship.
Below is what we take as a family - I purposely didn’t add my reasons for choosing the vitamins we did, as everyone has different needs, and doing research is the best path to see if any of these products would be a good fit for you and your family.
After our pregnancy loss, we were inspired to make a few positive changes, and we prioritized the routines that made me feel good with a new intensity
Around that same time - and because of a nasty cold took all three of us out for a hotttt minute - we started prioritizing our vitamin regimen, again thanks to my dear friend Molli. (For the same reasons I just listed, I also started juicing.)
But let me say this: I had a big meltdown in 2017, and that put me on the path to prioritizing a few specific supplements, and the aforementioned pregnancy loss + nasty cold is what drove me to add on a few more supplements. This post talks all about my anxious tendencies and my Big Meltdown of 2017 that led me to prioritize my wellness and where I am today.
Anyway! Our current vitamins and supplements have us feeling so good. It does cost some money, and we prioritize this in our budget - we try to remember it’s important to invest in our health.
And, and! We have all our vitamins, etc - as well as a few other household necessities - set to Amazon Subscribe and Save. One less thing to think about. (There is some debate whether Amazon is a good source, but so far it has worked for us. We will tweak this if need be in the future!)
Here’s what we each take!
me:
I wish I had all the resources I’ve read over the years (aside from this favorite book of mine) for why I chose the vitamins I did, but know this combo makes me feel reallyyyy good. and yeah, my overall wellness is my goal, but these were really picked to nurture my naturally anxious-mindset, to support my body to grow our family in the future, and to soothe my dry skin. and whether it be actuality or just a placebo effect, these make me feel good. I can feel a difference when I don’t prioritize my vitamins.
a good quality prenatal (even when I’m not pregnant)
a probiotic with a few specific mood-boosting strains
a magnesium glycinate (the type of magnesium thought to have calming properties)
Sometimes I’ll add collagen to my coffee/tea and sometimes I’ll add Benefiber, too. Lately I do enjoy taking this liquid collagen. Like the above vitamins and anything else on this list, researching collagen and Benefiber would be the best to see if it’s a good fit for you.

kk:
Our main focus for KK - as well as us - was immunity. (She had her first cold at 16 months, and, like I previously mentioned, it knocked all three of us out for the better part of three weeks. That kicked our butt into gear to improve our immunity boosting practices.) There are lots of options out there, but after researching, we decided on the below combo, along with plenty of rest, fluids, produce, and outdoor time for all of us.
Also, remember I’m not giving many details here on purpose as to why we take what we do - so this may not be a good fit for your child (especially if their diet is different than KK’s), and that’s okay!
And when we’re under the weather (or when we want extra protection) we also do: zinc drops + vitamin c drops.
I also have these probiotics and this multivitamin gummy, but I don’t prioritize them like the others, TBH. I may stop buying these altogether since KK gets plenty of produce, etc.
