food snobs, avert your eyes. snack dinner saturday isn’t just gorgeous cheese plates.
snack dinner can be:
gorgeous cheese plates
any and all appetizers
snack boards
chips and dip
frozen foods
leftover produce
…or any combination of the above.
whatever speaks to your heart! there are no rules.
because I love cooking dinner, but I love cooking dinner because I get a weekly break from cooking dinner. a night to rest and reset. a night of assembling and/or reheating instead of actual cooking. schedule your rest, y’all. my rest is snack dinner saturday!
and because we wanted a night dedicated to trying new appetizer recipes and to putting our cheeseboard skills to the test. a night that gives us a reason to pick up that fun Trader Joe’s dip, cheese, or frozen app. a night that gave us alllllll the permission to delight in frozen taquitos and guac and queso.
and sometimes it’s reallyyyy nice to have a fun dinner theme. and sometimes it’s reallyyyy nice to show KK, “hey, this makes a great dinner for all of us, too!” no food in our house is demonized - it’s all delicious!
and this way, when she begs for, say, frozen chicken nuggets, I can say, “we’re having that saturdayyyy for Snack Dinner!”
is there something you could do once a week? create a theme you love, automate it, make it a weekly thing. work smarter, not harder. we love our dinner themes and our meal rotation.
happy snack dinner saturday!
