here’s a full post on how we celebrate easter + how our Easter basket formula came to be.
here are our baskets this year, for Summer 2021:
KK (she’ll be 10 months old for Easter):
this rainbow swimsuit/rashguard hybrid
bought it in a bigger size so she can grow into it
also made her basket rainbow-ish themed because of this swimsuit
sunglasses that look similar to mine
in a wayyyy bigger size, in hopes this lasts more than one summer
hooded towel, monogrammed by my mom
rainbow shakers (inspired by this DIY rainbow sensory bottles by one of my favorite blogs), for my skaker-loving girl
yes, yes, they’re pricey. but they’re a goooood size and I loved that while they worked now as a shaking/rolling toy, they’d grow into I Spy bottles.
also, I didn’t want to mess with making my own, as I I didn’t want to take the time and energy to make a trip to Hobby Lobby. nor did I want to hunt for and buy a bunch of tiny things to make my own. so i supported a small shop instead. and they are AMAZING.
update: these were a huge hit. kk loves looking at alllll the tiny details inside them and she loves shaking them.
rainbow zipper toy, for my zipper-loving girl
the big book of colors from Usborne
me:
disclaimer: this year we splurged on Easter gifts. because yes, we only have one kid, but moreso we realized Brett and I hadn’t bought new summer things in, like, eight years. so we had some serious holes in our wardrobe to fill. in particular, we were wildly overdue for swimsuits.
this might be the most flattering swimsuit in the history of ever. worth every penny. i have one in navy and one in black, with the intention of switching out different bottoms in different colors + patterns.
this, this, and this swimsuit bottom
i have a few other various swimsuit bottoms, ranging in different colors and patterns. like some leopard prints, some plain black ones, etc. my hope is to mix and match with solid-colored tops. and this way, my swimsuits should all work together year after year.
this is my go-to pair, always and forever. and because they’re so inexpensive, I have several pairs and keep them everywhere.
a new hat
this year I got one for my swimteam, and one in this great color pink. pricey, yes. but I love them and I’ll wear them year after year.
in the past I’ve also gotten hats for our university, and a few Lilly Pulitzer hats from Poshmark.
a great big canvas bag
so technically i have this one and this one. both monogrammed, both extra large, both zippered, both extra long handles.
and this was definitely overdue, as up until now the only pool bag I’ve had was a tiny, wicker thing with the words, “siesta! fiesta! tequila!” on the sides. it was time for an upgrade.
a go-to, flattering cover-up
I bought this in one size bigger (in both white and navy) and I love love love it as my go-to swim coverup. it’s SO darn flattering and comfortable.
beach towels
from tjmaxx. always.
two new cute tumblers with straws
Lilly Pulitzer brand - because everything she touches is gold.
but, again, I found these at TJMaxx. that store is my favorite.
a replacement pair of my favorite sandals
because mine are, like, months past their expiration date, given they’re all i wear
here is a full list of my summer essentials, if you’d like a more details
brett:

update: brett loved these.
for gardening, for yard work, for fishing, whatever.
i got them in three great colors, so if for some reason he doesn’t like them, ill happily take them. we’re all pale - we need all the sun help we can get.
various bottles (and forms) of sunscreen
so much sunscreen. did I mention we’re pale and live in the great state of Texas?
a pair of brett’s favorite sandals
a replacement pair of brett’s favorite sunglasses
he lost his favorite pair back in 2018. he’s had cheap-y pairs since then, but it’s time to upgrade.
